Title: Reduction Voltage Check
Post by: M42 on July 23, 2013, 04:18:28 PM
Hi all,

I have just completed my Reduction...all resistance and voltage checks were spot on, with the exception of one voltage measurement. When I started the amp for the first time both tubes lit within a few seconds and all led's lit. The manual states terminal 15 should read zero volts...I consistently measure 99 volts. The amp seemed to run fine during the voltage test...nothing seemed hot, no smoke etc. I have checked my wiring against the manual, everything looks right. I will attach a photo once I get it resized.

I have not yet connected the amp to my turntable and Crack headphone amp to test it further. Any advice would be appreciated.

Thanks

Jeff

Hello Jeff,

That looks like an error in the voltage checks.

16 is 0V
15/14/13 will be 70-90V

Hi Paul,

Terminal 16 reads 0 volts...13, 14 and 15 read 99.8, 99.7 and 99.7 respectively. So it appears I'm ok to connect the amp and see how it runs?

Many thanks,

Jeff

Indeed, enjoy!

(We'll get that voltage issue revised in the manual, thanks for letting us know!)
