I got around to replacing the 3.0 auricap output caps on this with the 1.8uf mundorf silver in oil from my old sex 2.0 amp (so they are well broken in). I initially compared the left channel with mundorf vs right with auricap. Mundorf a bit smoother not quite as punchy. Couldn't really decide which one i liked more. So after putting the two mundorfs in the highs are striking now. Like when a bell is hit it grabs your attention.
I also compared the efp3 with auricaps to my Jolida musical envoy preamp (aprox$1000) This was Jolidas top preamp back in the day. I bought it when i first got into tubes. It has a phono pre and had a remote control:) anyway there is no comparison between these preamps. Efp3 is so much more refined!
