Title: [SOLVED] Headphone Jack problem
Post by: greyhamster on September 09, 2013, 04:08:03 PM
I've just finish my Crack. Everything's fine but whenever I plug the 1/4 headphone jack all the way down, there will be no sound at all. If I leave about 1/9 inch it works with no problem. I've tried with 3 different headphones the result is still the same. Is that normal or there is something wrong with my headphone jack?

Is the jack at all melted?

How is the DC resistance between terminal 3 and the black wire going to the headphone jack (and the two terminals on the headphone jack where the black wire attaches)?

no it's not melted at all.
The resistance between terminal 3 and the black wire on the headphone jack is 0.

It sounds to me like the internal contacts may have shifted from soldering heat. A replacement jack is probably the easiest solution. You can use replacementparts at bottlehead dot com to request a replacement.

the furthest terminal on the jack was a bit loose and it was an easy fix. Now everything works like a charm. thank you!
