I just bought a tung sol 5998 (chatham 2399). It worked well for two days, but all of a sudden I started having issues. When I started it up, it took minutes to warm up (used to take seconds). During warm up, both channels start very quiet (a couple minutes), then the right channel slowly increases, but the left channel stays quiet. I didn't bother waiting to see if the left channel ever got back up to match the right channel volume. I checked out the LEDs and the 4 on the large speedball board didn't light up (or is very very dim).
When I put the stock 6080 back in, it warms up as usual in a couple seconds and everything sounds fine. All LEDs light back up.
Do you think the tube is dying?
