Title: PJCCS Test voltages
Post by: aragorn723 on December 13, 2013, 06:33:16 PM
Hi,

I just finished installing the PJCCS, and here are the voltages:

IA 33.75V     IB 33.73V
A6 24.07V    B6 22.06V
A5 1.62V      B5 1.61V

The A6 and B6 voltages look a little higher than the ones printed in the manual (per the manual A6 and B6 should be 19-21volts).  My other measurements are lower than the ones in the manual, but the preamp has been running these batteries for maybe a month (so that is ok, right?)  Is there any issue with hooking this baby up and listening to music?  Thanks,

Dave

Think your good to go, the voltages seem to settle down after its been running for 20mins or so.   For reference these are what i got...

34v
22v
1.6v

The test voltages are taken on a prototype built for the manual.  As parts change and the tubes being delivered change the voltages can vary.  This happens most with tubes.  If new and not broken in they yield different voltages.

Grainger,

That's good to know.. Thanks.  It was good to see someone else had voltages so close to mine too.  I'm guessing the parts need a while to burn in too?  Thanks,

Dave
