Title: Denon DL301MKII - a total surprise
Post by: Clark B. on May 05, 2014, 05:52:31 PM
I was just writing to say quickly that I am having great luck with a Denon DL301MKII, AU300 SUT on a refurbished Technics SL1200MKII.  Of course the Eros helps... a tad!   Either side of the fence you reside on in regards to the "lowly" or "mighty" Technics, I bet we could agree (heard in person) that the overall performance of this bang-for-the-budget setup is truly impressive.  It makes music!

Thanks to everyone who has encouraged me to delve deeper into the groove of vinyl.  This setup will definitely serve as a personal reference as I descend into the rabbit hole of a Woody/Lenco setup.

I picked up a SL 1200 MK2 awhile back. Of course I did numerous upgrades: rewired, new AC cord, belts, cart, etc. The end result is one that I am very pleased with. Besides being built like a tank, when coupled with the Eros it is one hot unit. I'm glad I went this route rather than dropping $1200 plus to get something even comparable to it.
