Hello Doc,
Adobe Reader won't open the Smash Manual. Adobe Reader says "There was an error opening the document. The file is damaged and could not be repaired."
-
Hmm, if you PM me your e-mail (please don't post it in a reply), I can send you a download link, just to see if that helps.

Also worth trying - other pdf readers (Adobe is kinda garbagey, IMHO). That said, I can open the file in my Adobe Reader (Mac version 10.1.10) and Apple Preview. Dan was able to open it in whatever version of Adobe Reader is on his PC, and PB was opening it in an unknown reader.

I use Foxit reader.
Some time ago, Adobe seemed to forget about "memory efficiency", and I'd see Acrobat Reader using up a lot of RAM, so I switched.
-
PB,
You have a PM.
By the way, I'm using Adobe Reader X (10.1.10). I was able to open other PDF files on my PC without a problem.
-
Thank you very much for your help. I downloaded the PDF file and I can open it.
-
My kit has not arrived as yet, but would you guys give me access to the manual already? I'm dying to have a peek.
Thanks

Ditto (same request as Cleet).

Same problem here. Can't open the Smash manual in Adobe, word, or iBooks. Could someone PM me the link too?
Thanks,
Brent

Brent,
PM PB your full name from the order. They will verify your purchase and send a link.
-
Done. I just thought I'd throw it on the forum rather than pick on one person.

I encountered the same problem - unreadable PDF file (using Windows/Acrobat and Mac/Preview).
I'm not sure how to "PM PB" - tried this, but "PB" is not accepted in the "To:" field...

PB=Paul Birkeland=Caucasian Blackplate.
e-mailing replacementparts at bottlehead dot com works as well, and arguably works better.
-
Guys, it's difficult for us to know who you are by a forum username or just a first name. Probably the most efficient method is to contact us by email us at replacementparts at bottlehead dot com as Josh suggests, so that we have an address to send a link to.
-
Thanks all. I emailed Eileen directly and received a copy (did this in the past with manual issues). Next time I'll go to the replacementparts email.
I agree that translating user names & real names is confusing.
I wonder what went awry with the manual pdf's on the CDs?
