Title: One tube pin led not lighting up after shunt regulator install
Post by: mpent on June 11, 2014, 11:18:10 AM
I just got around to working on the installation of the integration upgrade. After installing the shunt board, voltages were 107v and change on both MJE5731s and 126v at pin 56. Slightly lower then manual says.  Anyway, I happened to notice that one led on a tube pin was not lit. I hooked up the reduction and played a record wanting to see if I noticed anything sound wise which I did not. Before I shut everything down again I took a look under the chassis and noticed that the led in question on the tube pin was now lit. Any explanation? Should I just keep going or should I look further into the previously unlit led??

This sounds a lot like a loose connection, either on the LED itself or one of the 18K resistors nearby.
