Title: What's the purpose of the 2.49k resistors?
Post by: Jim R. on May 13, 2010, 12:16:24 PM
I think I know, but I'd like to hear the experts explain.  Also, how critical is the value as long as they are matched?  I just found a pair of 2k7 caddocks I'd like to use.

Thanks,

Jim

They discharge the coupling caps as the amp starts up. I think we found anything from 2k-4.7k was ok. Any bigger and the discharge is too slow, any smaller and the resistor loads the output more than we'd like.

Thanks, Paul.  AS I suspected, so thanks for confirming.

Paint and a 2% matched pair of BG 150uF 350v NHs arrived today, and there will be painting weather next week, so it shouldn't be too long before my kit will be going together.
