Did you know that he almost cancelled the concert, since he didn't like the sound of the piano? Glad he did not!
-
Ah, Thats interesting. Where did you pick that up from. Id love to read some about the concert.

O Boy just looked at Wikipedia. Seems like a few people share my option is shared by a few million people. I do know who Elvis Presley was though! What a story about the piano. Thanks for the info!

I have the 192/24 version from HD tracks. A little known, but not under-rated recording

WELL STURM THATS THE ONE I DOWNLOADED. I haven't heard others. How do they compare?

Not to butt in....
ECM has a reputation for being pretty reliable for good sound production in whatever format (but I have not heard any High Res stuff).
Turned up a VG+ LP copy at my local record store for sub $10. Should not be hard to track down a decent LP copy.
-
Well how does the VG+ LP sound ?

Your right about EMI. I've been looking for some good Maria Calas recording. Preferably pre 1955. I been very unhappy with the selection I find on HD Tracks, but p;esantly surprised by the sound quality of the EMI 16/44.1 recording.
-
Uhhh, EMI and ECM are too VERY different labels.
-
Thanks Joshua, EMI and EMC are certainly two very different labels. I have EMI on the brain these days because Ive been trying to decide on a Maria Callas Album, and EMI recorded a lot of her early 50's operas. I've actually think Ive decided on the Pristine Classical's 1953 Tosca, which was initially recorded by EMI. Can't decide between 16/44.1 or 24/44. Anybody hear a difference between these two?
