Title: Semi-OT: Any headphone recommendations for use with hearing aids?
Post by: caffeinator on April 22, 2015, 02:33:43 AM
Hi there,

I searched the forum and there didn't appear to be much on this question.  I am looking for headphones that work well with in-ear hearing aids.  The purpose is not music listening, so much as speech - these would be for my dad so he can better hear the foreign language lessons (pc-based) he's interested in taking.

Thanks in advance for your helpful suggestions / experiences.

I would look for sealed, over the ear headphones that put the drivers fairly far from the head.  Maybe some of the Audio Technica ATH-A700X would do the job.

I wonder if the resonances in a closed cup might interact oddly with a hearing aid. I'd lean more towards a large semi-open with perhaps some added damping inside.
