Title: My Eros is back-Part II

The Eros has been operating in my system for several weeks, probably about 45 hours of vinyl time. I couldn't be happier. The Girl Friend who loves music and has a great ear says she is hearing nuances that are new to her in pieces she's listened to for years. Total record pathway is Ortofon Cadenza Bronze, VPI Prime, Bob's Devices VPI SUT, Eros, Conrad-Johnson CA200, Emerald Physics EPx Speakers.

It's been a month of lots of vinyl running through the Eros. Just rolled some old Telefunken EF86's. They are superb, just so clear and clean. Also a tad more gain.

Any thoughts of others I might try.

Stick with the Tele's. For the 6922, consider an Amprex.

Hi Aaron,

Wow that Amperax is expensive. I'm willing to go there if it's really worth it. have you heard the Black Sable JJ at half the price or the Telefunken Black Diamond at about a quarter of the price.

My wife and I rolled a few 6922's this weekend.  We tried the Russian tube, a Mullard 6922 and my favorite, an old Amperex 6DJ8.  In our system, the Amperex sounded the best to our ears.  If you have the servo circuit in, you don't need to find a 7308 or fancy 6922.  The Amperex 6DJ8 was used in everything back in the day.  Get a very strong one and matching of sections is important for the Eros, you at least want them close.  It shouldn't cost you very much.
