Just happened to stumble onto the fact that Jacob Collier is performing at Benaroya on the 28th. Tickets purchased!

I can only say that last night's show was one of the most amazing musical experiences I have ever had. There were a lot of comments going around like "this kid can't be human, he must be the next step in evolution." His energy level was almost incomprehensible and his stage presence is superb, you can't help but love the kid. His knowledge of music theory takes his playing into places you just don't expect - one of those guys like Miles who could take it one note or chord too far and then suddenly show you that it's exactly the right note. Keyboard chops? Holy s**t! Amazing energy and proficiency on all the other instruments as well. The looping, harmonized covers are mind blowing, and it was really neat to find that his own songs are stunningly beautiful. Going in I thought he might be someone who could become a Vegas novelty act 15 years down the road. But he is far more than that. If you only go to one show this year, this might be the one.
