My Shunt Regulator upgrade went without a hitch, and I can confirm that as others have said it adds a wonderful sense of dynamics and frequency response extension in both directions.
Interestingly, it also brought a bigger change than I had expected in the operating point for my 2A3s. I had previously changed out the power supply resistors from 130 to 620 ohms resulting in a 2A3 operating point of 278V plate to cathode and 44ma current. The shunt regulator is obviously pulling some additional current because after its install with no other changes my 2A3 operating point is now at 267V plate to cathode and 41.5ma. I'm getting really close to a 45 operating point now.
Bottom line is my Stereomour II is sounding better than ever, even if it's only a 2.5W amp now!
