I built my Crack around 1.5 months ago - was very happy initially, but then noticed that sometimes I have low frequency buzzing noise in the right channel that is loud enough to be heard during the songs. It comes and goes without any obvious reason and does not change when adjusting volume knob position. Sometime it fluctuates slightly up and down in intensity, sometimes just remains at the same level.
What I've done so far as per manual and forum guidance:
- All voltage and resitance checks after the build were within tolerance limits
- Moved Crack away from computers/mobiles/WiFi and tried ipone in airplane mode as a source - the noise is there
- Observed all joints for bad soldering and pulled all internal wires apart from each other as far as possible- the noise persists
- Tested Crack with shortened plugs - the noise is still there
- Finally I've noticed that the noise can be triggered (or if it's already present, stopped) by tapping slightly directly on 6080 tube (not on the aluminium plate). While tapping, I also hear something that sounds like microphonic effect, also only in the right channel, akin to a metallic ringing sound.
Do I have a faulty 6080 or can there be another issue? Many thanks for any advice
