Hi, I was reading here that it is possible to choose between two different plate choke values in the Kaiju. How does this change the sound and frequency response? Is it part of the design to use the one listed in the manual so it matches with the output transformer and capacitor?

I have personally forgotten how to use a Smith Chart so some help would be greatly appreciated.

Yes, the configuration described in the manual is optimal for the Kaiju circuit.

You might be thinking of the Stereomour, where the plate choke can be reconfigured for use with the #45 tube at reduced plate current.

It is true, the Kaiju plate choke has an extra tap. But at present we do not use it in any product. (I have some ideas, but they have not yet gone beyond just ideas.)
