Adding another jack terminal for sensitive low impedance headphones

I was getting ready to build the L-pad adapter from this very helpful old thread:
https://forum.bottlehead.com/index.php?topic=7252.msg70029#msg70029
However, I wondered if I can add another hole to the top plate next to the existing jack terminal and then wire an attenuated terminal directly from the existing terminal. Is there any problem with doing it this way, and can I go straight from the tip, ring, and sleeve connections on the side that doesn't go to the speaker taps on the existing terminal, over to the resistors at the tip, ring, and sleeve of the new terminal? Thanks!

Yes, you could do that. If you use an external adapter, you will preserve the resale value of your kit though, so that's worth considering.
