Hi all

In the process of planning out a new build (more play with a d class amp) and I was wondering if anyone had been able to add a trigger output to the more play.so that when the unit is powered on I can trigger the d class amp to power on.

Ideally this needs to be between 5-19v and terminated with a 3.5/2.5mm socket but I'm not sure where to source the power feed from without impacting the pre.

Thankyou

You could try using one of the 6V6 cathodes as the trigger.  The fun part about this is that your class D amp wouldn't come on until the tubes were warmed up and playing.

Thanks Paul,

Would that be safe and not cause any additional loading on that circuit?

Thankyou

You could give it a shot and see.  I don't believe that triggers use any meaningful amount of power, but there's always the possibility that you could introduce some noise. If that's the case, you could make a little rectified DC supply off the heater winding instead.
