ive been in audio bliss since finishing my crack kit just enjoying the music for the past few months with my hd600, when on a late night listening session i suddenly lost the left channel after trying a very cheap pair of in ears and my audeze headphones on the crack all was well both channels were working . my hd600 headphones were faulty. i contacted sennheiser uk repair centre  and for a flat fee of £90 they would repair them fully,so i duly boxed them up and sent them off. a week later a box from sennheiser arrived after unpacking the box i found out they had not repaired my hd600 but had given me a brand new pair of hd660s my heart sank when i realised these are 150 ohm .i contacted sennheiser as to why they had not repaired ny hd600 their answer was due to covid 19 they were severely short staffed and this was all they could offer me, there was nothing else they could do.so i kad to bite the bullet. and although i have only got about 100 hours use on the hd660e im pleased to say im not sitting here wishing for my 600 headphones im still getting that lovely dynamic smooth sound that is just so dam addictive and i dont consider them fully run in yet .i will update in a few weeks as to the final sound.just a word of warning though contact sennheiser to see if they can repair rather than replace.good listening everyone. im off to fire up my crack

150 ohms should still be a pretty good match. If you are willing to get a little crazy spending-wise find a 5998 tube to try. That will lower the output impedance a little bit.

I think you got a pretty good deal for what you spent!
