Hi all,

Please remove this post if it is inappropriate.

My father passed last week. He was brilliant and a great guy. Some of the items he left behind include an oscilloscope and signal generator. Are these "useful tools" or "sci-fi movie props"?

If they are useful, I would like someone to put them to good use.
- Precision, Signal Generator E-200-C
- Precision, Deluxe Oscilloscope ES-520
- Manuals seem to be readily available on the internet

By the way - I am quite pleased with my S.E.X. and Moreplay. Can't wait to build my next project.

The signal generator is for RF frequencies and hence not that useful for audio stuff. The oscilloscope can be a useful tool if you are willing to take the time to learn its operation - and assuming it is in good enough shape that you don't have to spend more time fixing it than actually using it. I would fire up the scope and see if it produces a trace.

The scope was working about 10 years ago. I will be back in Arizona in a few weeks. I will give it a try then.

Thanks for the input.
