Good day. I am on the Glow Test portion of my build and the 12AU7 is glowing but the 6080 is not. The green wire is getting the 6.6V at each contact point. This is my first time working on a tube amp so am a bit new to troubleshooting a tube. My instinct is that the 6080 is bad or the contact points are not being made correctly between the tube and the octal socket. Any advice would be appreciated!

Could you post some build photos?

You might also pull the 6080 tube out of the socket and measure the resistance across pins 7 and 8 of the tube. Should read very low, just a few ohms. If that reading is in the right range the tube's heater is good.

I am getting .2 ohms on pins 7/8 of the octa socket. On the corresponding pins for the tube itself nothing. Just OL.

Your octal socket is not properly installed.  Please review page 15 of the manual.

Blimey you are right. I was really focusing on the directions as well. Just fixed it and the problem is solved. Thank you for your quick reply and help!

If you are using lead free solder, that will also contribute to problems.  If what I'm seeing isn't lead free solder, then it may be an iron that needs its temp turned up.  These two issues both present themselves in a similar manner visually.
