So in all my dyslexic glory, I recently bought a well-priced Telefunken ECC88 (6dj8 variant), thinking that I was getting an amazing deal on an E88CC. Having now read through relevant forum posts, I understand that certain 6dj8 variants work fine in the Eros 2 circuit and some do not. Does anyone have perspective on whether the Tele ECC88 is one of those that work well, or is it dependent on individual tubes? For context, I am still troubleshooting my build and awaiting some new parts, so I can’t test it myself.
