Just looking at our webstats for the past year. Bottlehead.com has had over 700,000 visits and over 6 million page views in the past 11.5 months.

I guess after 17 years the secret must be getting out.

Do you guys have a "museum" page of sorts to showcase how your products have evolved over time?

I was thinking the same thing.  There is "The Bottlehead Story" but it mostly describes the technical side of the designs.

I think a real history would be great.  How did you guys get started?  What were the early days like?

In what year(s) were each model in production and what were their major design features?

Heck, I'd even be willing to help make it happen if there was anything I could do.

An interesting bit of the history is on the SEX amp product page, about 20% of the way down.

Before there was a commercial venture, there was VALVE. Now that back issues are posted, there's another history resource - and a lot of fun reading too.

I agree, it would be nice to have at least some list of versions, when they were produced, and how to tell them apart. Every so often someone shows up with an old amp, either dragged out of the closet or recently purchased used, and wants to get it running - then I have to do a bunch of research to figure out what they have.

I'll be pretty busy for a few months, and not ready to take on a new project. But if something gets going, I'll contribute bits as time becomes available. I wonder if we can fit it into the context of the forum? The old Wiki was a great idea but was too easily trashed by spambots.

Can you not make a wiki that doesn't have open-edits? Make it so you have to request editorship on the forum, only grant it to people who have been here more than a couple of days.

How about video narrated by someone imitating Orson Wells...

In the beginning there was S.E.X.  And Doc saw that it was good.  So then followed  .  .  .  .

Something like that?  (To really get the joke you have to be familiar with The Begatting Of The President)
