Just completed the second Paramour II amp a few nights ago - bought them in 2006 and only getting around to it now, I know, the horror - and I wonder why I have four .1uf film caps when only two are needed altogether.  Was it a packing error?

FYI I haven't used them yet because I still need to buy paint for the bases and assemble them, but I'm very excited since it's been such a long time coming...

Quite possibly. The parts list in the manual is correct.

There was actually some hardware missing too (like nuts and bolts), but I wasn't about to call you guys and say "I bought this kit from you 5 years ago and I'm just now realizing some things are missing - can I have a replacement?"  That wouldn't be very nice.

Anyway, I don't blame you guys for occasional packing errors considering all the tiny things included.  What impressed me, actually, was that not a single thing was missing from my Foreplay III kit.
