The project I'm working on is the first one that I've built that uses a negative supply. It's a -12vdc for a pair of ccs's on the cathodes of a differential input for an amp.
The supply is simple, just a Schottky off of the filament taps of the power transformer, a resistor and a couple of caps. Of course the connection to the ccs's are from the negative side of the diode and the ground from the caps just goes to the other end of the transformer windings.
That all seems to work okay. I get the -12vdc at the ccs's just like I'd expect.
There's a ground coming off the ccs's and without really thinking about it, I connected that with all the other grounds on the amp side and that seems to work.
But, after thinking about it, should this ground be going to a positive ground?
