I use a Peachtree Audio DAC-iT to link my computer and Bottlehead amps up. They pair very well, the DAC-iT has incredibly high decoding and converting accuracy, and flows very well into my amps (Quickie and S.E.X.). It has the usual USB, Optical, and Coax inputs which can be switched between with the press of a button. It also looks very sleek (it's a mac mini case pretty much).

They retail for $549 and they're worth every penny!

I have read some good reviews of the DAC-iT. Lots of good stuff out there. For some good prices! Keeps us philes licking our chops!

Curious what you had before, and how it compares?

I've owned two DACs previously. A Xonar DX and then a D2X.

Going from a built in chip to a DX was remarkable, added quite a lot of clarity between frequencies. DX to D2X introduced tighter, stronger bass, and slightly better resolution. The D2X to the DAC-iT was the best upgrade I've ever made in my 6 years of audiophilism (beats out going from RS1i's to LCD-2s). My music just sounds so pure now, like there's nothing wrong with any part of it and there are no conflicts for sounds to be heard, it's just perfect, clean sound.
