crossover

Lets try this from another angle. Is it typical and/or desirable to combine all the negative wires in a 3 way passive crossover such that all the negatives tie together to eliminate as much wire as possible. Rather than a separate wire from each driver to the binding posts? Esthetically is looks better to me. I just want to be sure there are no audible ramifications.

I would not see an advantage.  But I didn't see an advantage to bi-wiring.  But I liked it.

So we are down to trying it to see if you like it.

Yep - electrically its the same. IMO, I like silver.
