New kit arrived, about to start build!

I've been waiting patiently for my Beepre and BeQuiet kits to arrive here in England and I'm delighted to say they have arrived safely yesterday - thanks Doc/ Eileen 

I've previously had a number of pretty good preamps including a Music First Silver mk2; a Pure Sound L300 and currently an Ayre K5-xemp which you may be more familiar with.   I also recently sold my Krell 402 and Thiel CS3.6 speakers and switched to a more modest active set up of Event Opal speakers.  The Ayre is good (very low noise) but I do miss having a valve somewhere in the chain hence the decision to build the Beepre.   Lets just say expectations are high!

I'll get chance to start sticking bits together (technical term) this weekend, but I'm already thinking of the finish I want.  I am thinking of a copper effect top with vintage looking wood frame.   Has anyone looked a similar and could recommend a paint/ spray that would give me the copper effect whilst allowing the texture to show through.  Any thoughts on a wood stain/ oil that would give a mid tone vintage look would also be great.

Let me know any ideas, (remember I'm in England though so some things might not be branded the same or available).  Cheers.

I've been looking at that too. There is also a 3M brushed titanium vinyl. I just tried it and it's remarkably convincing. I think the duplicolor paint might preserve the random brush pattern, but I have not tried it. We have found that satin clear coat pretty much hides it.

The film looks interesting - I had some sort of metallic spray in mind.  I'll report back once I've found something.

Going to start the build tomorrow evening - slow and steady does it.
