I tried using a Monster Cable y-splitter to connect a DAC to my Crack and an Audio GD SA-31 amp at the same time - but didn't get the result I expected. The idea was to be able to switch between amps without having to disconnect cables, but I figured I wouldn't keep both amps on at the same time.

What happens, though, is that I only get sound from the Crack if the Audio GD amp is also switched on. If I switch off the Audio GD amp, the Crack goes silent. Does that make sense? Is it even a good idea to run the Crack like this?

Can you post a link to the splitter that you used?

There shouldn't be any problem with doing this, but there's a decent chance that the Audio GD amp has a relay that closes when it's off, shorting the output of your DAC.

Thanks! It does seem like the Audio GD amp causes this. I've now discovered that I only have to switch inputs on it for the Crack to lose its signal.
