My BeePre played for about 4 weeks with a 1A fast-blow fuse in it. Two days ago the fuse blew. The 1A slow-blow fuses the salesman gave me turned out to be fast-blow and the two I tried blew.

The closest the parts guy could come up with are 1.25A medium-blow...would it be safe to use these?

I did a resistance check and all values were similar to the first check. I listed the ones that may be questionable below. The ones with ~ were varying.

Is it safe to power up without the tubes in?

2- ~3.5M
6- 146K
10- ~300K
11- 146.9K
15- ~300K
17- ~3.5M
22- ~300K
25- ~2.6M
29- ~4.95M
30- ~4.93M
31- ~4.88M
34- ~4.81M
35- ~4.87M
36- ~4.85M
40- ~500K
43- ~480K
46- ~390K

A3- ~3.5M
B3- ~3.5M

C4&D4- ~3.7M
C5&D5- ~3.7M
C7&D7- ~145K
C9&D9- ~145K

We have been shipping 1.5A  fuses with these for a while. I just realized the parts list never got changed. The change was made after a large number of people in the first run of kits had problems with the 1A.

Do not power on without tubes.

Thanks for the quick reply Joshua.
I'll try the 1.25A I have.
Does it make a difference for a slow or fast blow 1.5A?

Thanks.

I didn't realize how much bigger the BeePre soundstage was until I put my stock FPIII back in.
Great preamp!!!

Fast is fine.

What is the most preferred fuse value and type? 1.5A and fast or slow blow?  Thanks.
