Hi Guys

I am building my crack at the moment, and I noticed what must be a error in the manual on page 21. I am guessing common sense must take place, but my instructions for the attenuator wiring says to strip 1/2" off the black wire to go onto the attenuator, and one inch off the red wire. Now from what I can see there is no way this much bare wire is going to make it through the two connectors, and the red wire is only going through one connector. From the picture I can see the black wire is stripped to at least 1inch and the red wire is stripped shorter.

Common sense says to follow the picture I guess, but being a first time builder I am being super cautious....

I searched the forum and only saw the one correction for the red wire but nothing about the black wire, did anyone else notice this ?

Hi, I think you're confusing 'trim' as in cut, & 'strip' as in remove the outer insulation.
Yes, strip the black wire half inch or so, that should be plenty. It then says trim the red wire one inch, so you cut that & then strip a quarter inch from the end.

Hope that helps.

Hi Chris

You are right, it does say trim the red wire and not strip so my mistake but the instruction before that is confusing me. It says, strip the black wire 1/2 inch, but with that much bare wire it does not look long enough and not as much as what it shows in the photo.

This is probably going to end up being a "blonde" moment on my part, but it looks like the black wire needs to be stripped at least 1 inch to thread through top and bottom terminal.

If you think you need a little more striped length on the black wire then do so, so long as you have enough length of wire to reach.
The lengths to cut the wire given in the manuals are often a little on the generous side, better to be too long than too short!

Yeah thats what I thought, I will just go with the photo and strip a bit more, can always just trim it off later. Put it away for tonight but will carry on later, on the plus side I taught myself how to braid haha.

Thanks for the reply.
