Is the nature of the noise added by the Foreplay hum or tube rush?

Probably more tube rush component than hum.

If you can, turn down the each of the attenuators on your crossover 3 or 6dB, so that you maintain the proper balance between frequncy bands. Then you can turn the preamp volume up 3 or 6dB and that will improve the signal to noise ratio by the same amount.
