Guys, what is it with the left channel?  No sooner than I read about Samsquatches left channel issues, now my left channel makes some crackle, pop noises and then stops working!

I switched tubes, they were not the problem.  Tried my old, known good Enhanced Foreplay pre-amp in place of the Smash and left channel is still not working so it is most likely the Seductor.
Looked hard at the wiring and joints, looked good.
Checked the voltage readings with my cheap pencil meter and they were all wonky: (I got four beeps with a 1000 displayed on a few readings.  Does this indicate +1000?)
1.  0V
4.  73V
5.  61V
6.  463V
7.  73V
8-11.  0V
12.  73V
13.  73V
14.  73V
15.  438V
16-18.  0v
20.  25V
21.  four beeps 25V (1025V ?)
22.  484V
23.  four beeps 25V (1025V ?)
24-27.  0V
28.  0V
29.  four beeps 25V (1025V ?)
30.  four beeps 25V (1025V ?)
31.  479V
32-33.  0V
34.  494V
35-36.  247V (four beeps)
37-38.  0V
39.  465V
40-41  0V
42.  72.5V
43.  451V
44.  25V (four beeps)
45.  487V
46.  0V
47.  487V
48.  0V

I can borrow my brothers Fluke and try again for more accurate readings.  In the meantime, any ideas?

thanks, and Happy Valentines Day

Checked these values with my brothers Fluke, they were in the same ballpark - 2/17/15.

try reflowing the left channel solder joints.

Reflowed all the left channel joints.  Got the same voltage readings.  Reflowed the right channel and everything else I could see.  No change on voltage checks.

I took the resistance readings and everything looked good except for terminal 12 which is 1.63 kOhms, well out of the expected 3-8.2 kOhms.   Terminal 28 is 8 kOhms.

I used Cardas solder and this Seductor has been working nicely for several months with a Smash pre-amp. I was rather pleased when both kits checked out and fired up straight away after a fun build.  I installed the Smashup upgrade 3-4 weeks ago with now issues and am really impressed with the improved musicality of this combo playing through my Hammer Dynamic Super 12s….

When the left channel went out there were some loud pops and crackle noises, then nothing.
Really want to get that sweet music playing again.  :-[

Thanks for any other suggestions you guys might have.

I am wondering if the transistors might have failed since I am getting 0 volts at terminal 28 (should be 30-55V).  Also, the only abnormal  resistance reading was for terminal 12 which involves the other transistor?

:D Good news. Turns out it was a failed transistor along with a popped screen resistor like Samsquatch's.  Back up and running now.  Thanks to Paul B. and Eileen. :)
