Has anyone tried blueing the choke frames? I have seen threads about the transformer bell but haven't found mention of the choke. I assume,e the frame would need to be sanded down to bare metal. Is there a risk of damaging the choke with metal particles from the sanding?

I tried and failed miserably, i don't really know why but it just wouldn't take and ended up all blotchy and inconsistent.  I sanded them down again and really liked the brushed metal finish so i ended up just spraying them with clear coat and calling it a day.  The blue worked great for the transformer bell and bolts.

End result..
