Hello

My freshly assembled Crack + Speedball has performed well for a few weeks now. Tonight however, I'm getting a slight hiss from only the left channel then occasional loud crackling / static. I turned off the amp and made sure the tubes are seated, but the problem remains. If I tap on the area near the volume with two fingers, the static can be induced.

I don't know anything about tubes so I have no spares, but there is a Guitar Center nearby. Do they have tubes that work in this? If so, what am I looking / asking for?

If the problem remains, then what's next? Solder joint?

Thanks

This sounds a lot like a flaky solder joint.

Turns out circuit board "B" for the speedball upgrade has a crack in it that affected a trace on the board. soldered the trace and all is well now. thanks!
