Damn it!  I recently picked up a set of Grado GH1's and run them through a Marsh Class-A head amp that I built into my Mezmerize preamp chassis.  LOVE those phones!

Got my Crack + Speedball today and just took my first hit and now I am hooked!  I snagged a set of Crackheadphones on Head-Fi and while they are warm with bone-shaking bass, the mids and highs have a lot to be desired.  I am NOT a fan of Sennheisers at all and would prefer a closed back for when the kids are rowdy.

What phones would you guys recommend that have a similar sonic signature to the Grados?

Meanwhile, enjoy some Crack porn!  Upgrades include Speedball, Alps Blue Velvet and Obbligato 70uF oil caps.

Haven't heard the Grado's but am also not a fan of Senn's - I just got the Beyerdynamic T1's and am really liking them with my heavily modded Crack.

Closed headphones that work well are the Beyers DT770 250ohm.

Ordered a set of DT770 250 ohm cans ...

Dug out my stash of 12AU7's and found some Telefunkens.  I rolled them with the supplied tube, Mullard 12AU7 and Clear Top and there was no comparison ... not even close!  Teles won hands down!  I scored a Mullard 6080 on eBay and am waiting for that as well.

I figured I'd share pics of the completed build for y'all to enjoy.
