I just fired up my newly built Crack. I'm listening through my HD600's. So far sources have been straight out of the iPhone, the Schiit Bifrost Multibit, and the Meridian Explorer2.
The Crack reminds me how I got hooked on this whole SET thing back with the original SEX and Foreplay kits. I'm looking at really simple construction that is providing a direct, pure simple rendition of the source. I can hear deep into the mix on complex tracks. There's a real dimensional presence to the sound that really comes through over headphones.
I'm figuring that the speedball and some other upgrades will refine the sound a bit, but as a simple kit, it's really amazing.
