I've been thinking about building a vacuum tube preamp. I like the WE 101D tubes that I've seen on eBay and looked at some of the preamp designs that are on the internet. Being an 'all or nothing' type of guy, I've decided to start the project by building some DIY WE 101D style tubes. After watching Paillard's excellent YouTube demonstration video and Glasslinger's remarkable YouTube instructional videos I jumped into the fray. The project doesn't seem so goofy when you watch someone else building triodes.
The photos are of an experimental arrangement I'm working on now. I'll post progress on this project if any of you are interested in following the construction and processing of a prototype triode.
