Are the circuits on the Speedball boards one-sided or two-sided?

When soldering components to my Speedball boards, I found all large holes were soldered thru and OK (i.e. solder flowed to the other side of the board, which is desired, I believe). However, for almost half of the tiny holes, the solder just couldn't flow to the other side of the board even though I re-soldered them 2 or 3 times. I think the gaps between the leads and these tiny holes are just too small to let the solder thru, right?

Then I checked the Speedball PC boards. It seemed only the bottom side of the PC board has circuits printed on it, and the top side only has some labels and no printed circuits.

So are these Speedball PC boards one-sided or two-sided?

And if they're one-sided, then I should have NO problems with half of the small holes that were not soldered thru, am I right?

Really appreciate it if someone could help!

PS: I am using some 62/36/02 (tin/lead/silver) rosin core solder, which flowed pretty well when I worked on the Crack.

Technically they are double sided, but some of them only have a few traces on the top side. For those connections with traces there is no harm in adding a bit of solder to reflow them. Just be careful not to overheat those tiny LED's.

Great, thank you so much mcandmar!

Double-checked the 2 Speedball PC boards, and did find the smaller one is two-sided. The small board was the one that I worried about and had only half of the tiny holes soldered thru. Good news is that there's only ONE printed circuit on the top side (I believe), which connects one leg of Q1B to one leg of Q2B. And for these two legs both of them were soldered thru, so I should be safe, I think.

Since I have not attached the Speedball boards to the Crack yet, I can see clearly that all LEDs have no printed circuits on the top side. So I think I can skip re-soldering the LEDs, which can be dangerous as you indicated.

The larger SB board has no printed circuits on the top side, I think (from what I saw after seeing your suggestions).

My Speedball is version 1.1, which can be different than yours.

For example, on my Speedball circuit I didn't see any twisted pair of resistors (prior version has it).

All the tiny holes are through plated, so even if the solder won't wick up though those holes, the boards will still work just fine (do be sure that the center legs of the MJE350's and TIP50's get enough heat that the solder does flow all the way through).

Great, thank you so much for the confirmation, PB!

The JME350's and TIP50's legs were all soldered thru as they have large holes.

Oh Boy, those tiny holes (especially for the LED legs) were just too hard to solder thru. Glad it's not needed   :)
