My Kaiju came in the mail today, and I was able to finish mounting the hardware tonight.  Before I start the wiring, I have a quick question about the mounting tabs on the OT-5s.  On both of them, there is a thick, ~1/8", layer of varnish on the mounting tabs.  I'm assuming that at the very least, the ones towards the back of the chassis with the solder tabs, I should scrape that varnish off.  I imagine those tabs need a solid connection with the OT-5 chassis.

Am I correct in that assumption, or am I way off?

Great looking kit, btw.  It's an absolute beast with all the new iron inside.   :o

Usually the teeth on the solder tab cut through the varnish and make contact with the metal underneath when you tighten down the mounting screw and nut. But if you think the varnish is too thick for that to happen a little scraping should do the trick.
