Hi all,

Unfortunately, during our recent move my Crack was haphazardly placed among some other computer items and, long story short, it was damaged in the process. I believe it's just the Speedball TP50 transistor that was damaged. I've taken a few pictures of the board with some disassembly (attached). The left channel works normally, but the right is completely out.

I removed the heat sink and noticed that the TP50 transistor was split in half and open. I presume this is my primary issue, and I hope it's the only one. Everything else looks to be in original shape.

My question is - would this serve as an appropriate replacement transistor?

If not, which would?

Thanks for all your help.

Your post kind of sneaked by us somehow.

That is the correct part number for the TIP50.  If you had soldered the heatsink pins the damage very likely wouldn't have happened.

While you're in there, I would also replace the 2N2222 just in case operating the amp with the damaged TIP50 may have aggravated it.
