Hi,

I'm having a small problem with a whine in the left channel. Description

  • It's very faint, and high pitched
  • It's intermittent, sometimes very quickly fading in and out
  • If I tap the crack it will make it stop (briefly)
  • No change with volume adjustment
  • Does it with input disconnected

I took some steel wool to the pins to clean, but I'm still hearing it.
Any ideas?

Thanks

You might have to heat up your soldering iron and give your joints a good do-over, it’s the quickest solution.
If you post some pictures from your Crack’s insides, the Bottlehead crew could tell you if any of your solder joints look flaky.

That is indeed usually a flaky solder joint.
