Hello Everyone,

I finished my first base crack build over the weekend and it all went well.  I took my time building it (about 2 weeks) and double or triple checked each step.  I also found it helpful to do continuity checks with each soldering step (where applicable).  Anyway, the result is awesome!  I had a Little Dot MK III before this, but this one is way better.  I found my tubes I like with a Russian "Winged-C" power tube and a Tung Sol Tall Bottle 6SN7 (with the adapter from Garage 1217).  Very good sound with my DT770 250 ohm headphones.

So far so good!  I've got the speedball at home that I haven't installed yet, but I'm enjoying the sound for right now.  Thanks for the very detailed assembly guide, that helped a lot!

Tim

Nice build, Tim! Would you be interested in participating in the gallery site I built? If you have more pictures or more info you'd like to share I can build a page.

Thanks everyone!  Yeah it helped that I took my time with it.  It's also not my first time soldering or building a kit.  I have a ham radio license and I've built some things related to that, but I've been doing stuff off and on since grade school.  Not all the time, but enough to be dangerous. :)

Oh and yes, I would be ok with participating in the gallery site, let me know what you need.

I'm debating on adding the speedball over the Memorial Day weekend, but I would have only had it for a week, so we'll see.

Anyway, thanks again!

Congrats on the build, the virtue of patience obviously paid off. The glamour shots on Jameson's gallery site look great.
