Max current draw from 120VAC mains of Beepre, Stereomour II and Kaiju?

I'm contemplating an AC filter box project that uses combination common mode and differential mode filter chokes that come in 2, 5, and 10 A ratings. It's been reported that the lower the amp rating of this particular choke, the better its filtering performance. 


Can anyone tell me the max current draws from 120V AC mains power of each of the Beepre, SII and Kaiju? I would use a different choke for each amp depending on max current draw.

The 2A choke will be pretty overkill if you're going to use one per each amp.

If you pull the fuse holder out of the IEC power entry module, you can set your meter to AC amps and measure the operating current pretty easily.  You lose your fuse protection in the process, but the current measuring setting on every meter I've owned is fused inside the meter.

Many thanks PB. That's cool. It never occurred to me (although it seems obvious now that you've pointed it out) that in measuring current an ammeter has the full current flowing through it. My Fluke is 10A fused, so I'm good to go.
