Doc and gang - if this isn't appropriate just kill the thread.

I have 5 original BH bases to give away for the cost of shipping.  I have my brother build custom cherry or walnut bases and these got used for experiments in using wood dye.  All except the green one have multiple layers of tung oil as a finish.

If you are interested and would like better pictures let me know in this thread.

Left to right:
6" x 10" Crack base in Green hammer paint.  To me the finish in the picture looks too blue and it is much greener in person.
I'll sneak the center one in here - also 6" x 10" Crack base in Light Oak.

12" x 12" Mainline base in Colonial Maple.  This one does have a dent in one corner and should have more tung oil applied.

10" x 12" Stereomour and maybe a Crack-a-2-a type base?  The lighter one in Mahogany and the darker in Medium Walnut.  The Medium Walnut does have rubber feet on it tall enough to allow circulation.

Various beveling on the edges and all done with a sander so the bevels are not perfect.

If you have questions please ask.

Hi,
I'd be interested in the two 6x10 bases, if they are still available.  How can I get you the $ for shipping?  I'm in New Jersey, zip 07760.

Re-use them! My former Crack base is now a digital tube tester and my S3X base was home of another amplifier until i finished the woodwork on that one! I'd make them a home for new amps if it were me!

@Tom-s: Can you say more about this tester? DIY built? From existing schematic?  Sounds pretty cool.

cheers, Derek

It's a way to properly test tubes in a small package for a low price. In the picture below you can see how it fits my Crack base.
And of course, the best part is that you build it yourself based on the excellent manual that comes with it.
I'm working on a new top plate, so it has full test functionality with all valve sockets and external heater supply option.
