6.5 volt Test [resolved]

Hi,

This is my first post and not sure if i am sending to the right place. I am starting with the crack installation - did the soldering for the transformer. I am at the point where i need to test for a 6.5 volts but i get 0 instead. I am not sure if the voltage is too low to be detectable by my multimeter (Basic Etekcity from Amazon) - i did test the multimeter against a general 120v socket and it seems to work fine.

I am looking for common errors rookies make during this steps. Are there any pointers? I have already triple verified the solder and the connections.

What is the AC voltage between the L and the N lugs on the IEC power entry module?  Is the fuse installed in the correct spot on the IEC power entry module?  How about the high voltage winding on the power transformer, does that measure properly?

Between L and N - measures 120 volts. I suspected the fuse also - so i tried to install the fuse using the "cage" as well as just the fuse without the cage so i can see it inserted properly. I tried both configuration. The high voltage does not measure properly neither....but it does not say 0 - it fluctuate 0.02...0.01.

Perhaps it would be best to post some build photos.  The power switch is on while attempting these measurements correct?

Looking at your photos my eyes tell me you need to solder the connections at the power switch.

You should trim that wire poking out of 16 as well, stuff like that will cause your amp not to work.  Your octal socket is not properly oriented also.

Along with soldering the power switch connections, what AC voltage do you get between 13 and 18 on the power transformer?

ok it worked. Although all connection were already soldered, i added more solder to all connections. It seems it was just a bad connection.
