Hello
Please remove this post if it is not appropriate

I recently found a Eico HF-50 tube amp in a relative's house who passed away. It is missing the tubes but looks intact besides that.
My only experience with tube gear is the Moreplay I assembled-which is fantastic.
Besides a visual inspection and replacing the tubes is there any advice anyone has about anything else that I can check or measure before I plug this thing in?

Thanks

It's a 50-watt push-pull monaural amp, likely from around 1959. The electrolytic capacitors  are likely to have dried out by now and should probably be replaced before plugging it in. The schematic is available online, and probably a manual (?), which you'd need to know how to adjust the bias and balance controls.

Somewhat interesting design, with a direct-coupled long-tail pair phase splitter.

Thanks Paul. I'll look into the schematics and the manual.

great old amp, same as the HF-60 but with Chicago transformers, whereas the HF-60 has the Acrosound TO-330. Both are great, some prefer the Chicagos.  Steve T
