we're putting a new pump in the well at my place of employment. there's only single phase service available at the site so appropriately powering a 20HP pump means stepping the 240V service up to 460V, converting it to 3 phase and modulating it with a VFD. no one at the control manufacturer or dealer mentioned to the installer that there needed to be a choke between the converter and the VFD to prevent the generation of erroneous error messages and we got set back a week when the omission became apparent during the installation and one had to be ordered. it arrived today; it's about 10" tall and weighs 30 lbs. it's rated as 2.19MH for 58A at 400V.
