During the second evening of listening to the newly constructed Stereomour II I heard a sizzling and squealing from the speakers.  It goes quiet for a while then starts again.  It may have been present the first evening but covered up with music.  The quiet passages sound great.  I figure this is a weak solder joint but I wanted to hear comments from others that have had this happen.  Any input?

When the noise happens, give the top plate a pretty solid whack with your hand to see if that changes the noise at all.  If it does, I'd run the amp into some cheap test speakers while it's flipped over, then poke around with a wooden chopstick to see if you can find a spot that sets off the noise, then that can help focus your resoldering efforts.

Found a weak solder joint by wiggling the output tubes.  The noise stopped when the right tube was adjusted.  I touched up the solder joint that had some wiggle in it and now it’s quiet.  Thanks.
