I'm in the process of installing the soft start circuit in my Paramounts in preparation to using the EML 2a3 output tubes and was wondering how the soft start circuit changes the conversion.   Should I just ignore the steps regarding the replacement of the driver cathode driver LM431 and LED change out?

Thoughts?

No, Paully is running his Paramounts with a 45 output and did the complete conversion.  The soft start puts the TL 431s in both cathode circuits of the driver tube on the circuit board.  The one that you remove, and replace with the one on the board, allows for biasing the driver tube so that any tube works well.
